Section 19 — Composition and qualifications for appointment of Chairperson and Members

What this section requires

The Board consists of a Chairperson and however many other Members the Central Government notifies, all appointed by the Central Government in the prescribed manner. Each must be a person of ability, integrity and standing with special knowledge or practical experience in data governance, law relevant to social or consumer protection, dispute resolution, ICT, the digital economy, regulation, or techno-regulation — and at least one must be a legal expert.

The Central Government, in making appointments — this section sets eligibility criteria for the Board, not a duty on Data Fiduciaries.
