Built for the DPDP Act, not translated for it.

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 is India's own law, with its own obligations — a consent architecture built around purpose and notice, a Significant Data Fiduciary tier with extra duties, a Data Protection Board instead of a courts-first enforcement path. Most of the compliance tooling available in India started life as a GDPR or CCPA product with an India module bolted on afterward. PrivacySuraksha started from the DPDP Act's own text.

What that means in practice

Consent notices are authored against DPDP's own requirements, not repurposed from a GDPR template. Retention and purpose are modeled the way the Act models them — one purpose registry driving the banner, the notice, and every downstream report, not a GDPR "legal basis" dropdown with DPDP labels swapped in. Evidence is built to be audit-ready against what a Data Protection Board inquiry would actually ask for.
